Meet the Band

Here’s a quick introduction to the folks who make Cake Fight fun.

Nikki Chambless

Nikki is Cake Fight’s lead singer. She also plays keyboard and is a master of the subtle art and precise science of shaking a tambourine.

When she’s not fronting Cake Fight, Nikki is a realtor, mom, and avid motorcyclist.

You’ll frequently hear her on the radio or as a guest on local podcasts trying to talk about real estate while everyone just wants to ask her questions about being in Cake Fight.

Trey Mitchell

Trey plays bass and sings a few tunes, mostly to give Nikki some time to breathe between songs.

When he’s not keeping Cake Fight’s low-end tight as part of the rhythm section, he manages communications at a local non-profit, rides motorcycles, and plays pinball (poorly).

He’s also a maker of some very mediocre instruments. So if you’re trying to figure out what weird bass he’s playing, it’s probably one of his own creations.

Matt Hartung

Matt plays drums and is the other half of Cake Fight’s dynamic-duo rhythm section.

When he’s not keeping time and making our songs groove, Matt is a family man who manages medical technology at the hospital. An avid music fan, if you don’t see him on stage with Cake Fight, chances are good you’ll find him in the crowd at a local music venue.

Lance Holland

Lance is one-half of Cake Fight’s stellar guitar line-up. Lance also covers some keyboard and sound sample duties that make our pop tunes shine.

When he’s not shredding through solos on stage, Lance tells us he “makes things in the cloud.” Surely he can’t be cirrus.

He also spends his time taking care of a bevvy of horses, dogs, and other pets, and just hanging out with his family.

Carl DeTroia

Carl studied music at the world famous Musicians Institute in Hollywood. He spends most of his time on Cake Fight’s stage thinking “how would Stravinsky play this?” while strumming along to a Meghan Trainor song.

Carl teaches guitar, bass, and ukulele, so you too can learn to shred like a master (or strum along to bubblegum pop if that’s your thing).

He’s a husband and a dad who likes RPGs and board games. To relax, he paints really, really small intricately detailed models, you know, for “fun.”
